Picnic in the Garden
Bring your own Picnic to the garden!
In an effort to offer the membership an event in May in these difficult times there are 25 invitations open to have your picnic in the private garden at the Grade II listed house situate at 17 Farquhar Road, Edgbaston.
The property is a large white house with 1907 over the door. Please enter through the side gate. You must keep socially distanced in your household groups. There is sufficient socially distanced seating for 25 people. The garden is on a slight incline, has gravel paths and large lawns so flat shoes are recommended. There is access to toilets.
Please bring a picnic or a flask of coffee. We regret we cannot offer any refreshments. Access will extend for 2 hours between 11.30 am and 1.30 pm. There is parking on Farquhar Road East opposite the house. When reserving your place please state your name, contact email and phone number and whether you will be arriving by car.
There is no shelter so umbrellas would be needed if the weather threatens!
The event will be cancelled by 9 am on the day if the weather does more than threaten. Your place will be confirmed by email and any cancellation will be notified by phone.
Rather than charging for this event, we are asking for donations on the day. All monies raised will go to St. Mary’s hospice, Selly Oak. We suggest £10.
Please note there is no claim to exceptionality with the garden. It is just an opportunity to visit a space that is usually inaccessible to the public. Places are strictly limited to members only. Admittance is only through booking with Jane.
Let’s hope for good weather!
