VISIT TO J HUDSON & CO (WHISTLES)

Joseph Hudson, a farm worker from Derbyshire moved to the city of Birmingham during the Industrial Revolution and trained as a toolmaker.  Amongst his early products were snuff boxes, corkscrews and .... whistles.

The story of J Hudson & Co (Whistles) Ltd is a fascinating one for, over the next 135 years, under its trading name of Acme, it developed and patented over 40 different whistle designs to make the company a world leader.

Simon Topman CEO of Acme Whistles will take us on a journey through the amazing world of whistles!

Meet at 10.25 am for a 10.30 am start at J Hudson & Co Whistles Ltd at 244 Barr Street, Birmingham B19 3AH.  Please note that parking is particularly tight in this area.

The price of this visit includes tea/coffee/cake/biscuits and will be donated (at Simon's request) to Mayfield Special School.
